Practitioners Persecuted in Shanghai Third Forced Labor Camp

August 14, 2012 | By a practitioner in mainland China
(Minghui.org) Chinese Communist Party officials are working closely with the Shanghai Municipal Committee and the 610 Office to arrest Falun Gong practitioners from different districts and counties in Shanghai, and then taking them to the Shanghai Third Forced Labor Camp in the Qingpu District. Practitioners are put in the strict control team, where guards brutally beat and torture them in an attempt to get them to renounce their belief.
This labor camp has been used to torture practitioners for thirteen years, and the crimes committed there have been exposed many times on the Minghui website. Brutal treatment When a practitioner is first detained in the strict control team, three inmates and one guard inform the practitioner of the rules and regulations. They do not allow or limit the time for washing, use of the toilet, and drinking water. Practitioners are sometimes only allowed one small cup of drinking water a day during the hot summer, and those who do not cooperate with the guards are not allowed to drink any water. A person's basic needs are used as ways to persecute them. Sometimes, practitioners are forced to sit or stand in unnatural positions near the toilet for over 17 hours a day, and are beaten while holding that position. For those who resist, their heads are pushed in the toilet and sometimes chamberpots are hung around their necks. Practitioners' meal portions are often very small as well. Under these grueling conditions, with the threat of starvation, beatings and torture, guards try to force practitioners to renounce their belief.  Mentally abused  Practitioners are forced to spend long periods of time reading, watching and listening to slanderous propaganda about Falun Gong. If someone refuses to comply, they are dragged in front of the TV, beaten and their heads are pulled back to face the TV. For those who close their eyes, needles or bamboo sticks are used to hold their eyes open. The volume is also turned to the maximum, and practitioners who try not to listen have their ears pulled and hit. Some practitioners have lost their hearing as a result of the beatings. After the brainwashing sessions, practitioners are forced to write reports about their thoughts on Falun Gong.  Guards and inmates verbally abuse practitioners and deprive them of sleep, leaving them feeling dizzy and nauseous. When practitioners are physically and mentally exhausted and unable to get up, they are dragged to the brainwashing sessions. Oftentimes practitioners are on the verge of mental collapse. Inmates who cooperate with the guards and actively assist in the persecution can receive reductions to their prison terms.  Physically tortured Practitioners who remain firm in their belief are severely beaten. If they try to yell out, socks, rags or dirty towels would be stuffed into their mouths and sealed with tape. Guards and inmates use cigarette lighters to burn a practitioner's chin, hair and soles of their feet, and cigarettes butts are stubbed out on the body to burn their skin, and bamboo sticks are used to stab and pierce their fingers and palms.  Guards are given quotas and targets of how many practitioners they must get to renounce their belief, and they receive bonuses if their targets are met.  When a practitioner goes on hunger strike to protest their persecution, they are tied down with their arms and legs spread out, so that they cannot move. A thick rubber tube is then inserted up their nose or down their throat and into the stomach. They are then force-fed through the tube while being beaten about the body. Some practitioners who refuse to renounce their belief have died as a result of torture.  The authorities constantly harass practitioners' families, frightening and intimidating them. Some couples have gotten divorced because of this, and families have been torn apart. Even in this vicious environment, practitioners still try to explain the facts about Falun Gong to those who are harming them, and try to awaken their conscience.

Seventy-year-old Dafa Practitioner Ms. Fan Guotian Arrested and Brutally

August 12, 2012 | By a Minghui correspondent from Hebei Province, China

(Minghui.org) Around 7:00 a.m. on July 24, 2012, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Fan Guotian, in her seventies, from Dakanxia Village, Bailong Town in Mancheng County, Hebei Province, rode her bike to the Baibu village market to distribute materials introducing Falun Gong and exposing the 13-year persecution of the practice. She was stopped by the deputy secretary of the Political and Judicial Committee, Li Jingdong. Two judicial office directors, Ran Kai and Zhao Baofeng, both in their thirties, roughly held Ms. Fan's arms, while Li Jingdong called the police station, ordering them to send a police car over. He kept pushing the station to quickly send an officer.  Two more officers arrived in a police car a few minutes later. While Ms. Fan resisted, the two policemen, with Zhao and Rang, pushed, pulled, and forced her into the police vehicle. They pulled her so roughly that Ms. Fan's right leg was injured. At this writing, her right leg is still in pain and she cannot walk properly.  The location where Ms. Fan was illegally arrested is the main road from from Dakanxia Village to Baibu Village. Many villagers passing by the scene of the arrest witnessed the young and strong “law enforcement officials” arresting an elderly woman. Upon seeing their lawless behavior, the villagers spoke out against the rough behavior of the law enforcement officials. Li Jingdong was afraid of being exposed and shouted, “Go away! Go away! This is none of your business. Quickly walk away!”  After Ms. Fan was arrested, the police also arrested Dafa practitioner Lian Fengzhen, in her sixties, and sent them both to the Bailong Village Police Station.  Ms. Fan and Ms. Lian were detained in separate rooms at the police station. The truth-clarification materials that Ms. Fan carried, including copies of Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and Shen Yun DVDs, were taken away. The police also stole over 60 yuan in cash from Ms. Fan. Ms. Fan was forced to sit on an iron chair and was interrogated by a government official in a police uniform. She was asked where her materials came from. Ms. Fan refused to tell them. The government official slapped Ms. Fan five or six times and said fiercely, “You are really stubborn!” Ms. Fan bled from her mouth and her left cheek began to swell.  Ms. Fan asked the name of the police who beat her. This policeman dared not to tell his name. She was beaten brutally and spit blood on the ground. The policeman was afraid of being exposed and held responsible. He quickly got a mop and wiped away the blood. When Ms. Fan asked the other two policemen in the room for the name of the policeman who beat her and where he came from, they responded, “Who beat you? Nobody beat you.” Relevant personnel:

The Seeds of Compassion Bear Generous Fruit

August 11, 2012 | Compiled by Tang Feng (Minghui.org)

Many of today’s people believe in the Social Darwinian Theory of “survival of the fittest,” which especially applies to the business world. They view business dealings as battles. This theory creates the illusion that one cannot succeed without hurting others. The widespread belief in such an illusion has resulted in a competitive environment that is vicious and lacking in integrity. Is the Darwinian Theory real? Below are some real-life situations that suggest otherwise. One stormy night many years ago, an elderly couple walked into a hotel lobby and asked for a room.

The young clerk at the front desk told them, “I am very sorry, all the rooms are booked. If not for the bad weather, I would have sent you to another hotel, but how could I send a nice couple like you into the rain. Why don’t you stay in my room? It is not a luxury suite, but it is clean. Since I am on duty, I can rest in the office.” The grateful couple accepted his offer. Several years later, the clerk received a letter from the old gentleman who invited him to New York for a visit. Upon his arrival, the clerk met the gentleman in front of a magnificent skyscraper. The old man said, “This is the hotel I built for you. I hope you can manage it.” This hotel turned out to be the world famous Waldorf Astoria.

Opening in 1931, it became the favorite hotel of visiting foreign dignitaries. The old man was William Waldorf Astor. The clerk’s name was George Boldt, and he became the hotel’s first general manager. It was no coincidence that Mr. Boldt got a great job offer that others could only dream about. What impressed Mr. Astor most was George Boldt’s kindness when he went out of his way to help his customers.

Mr. Li Hongzhi introduced Falun Dafa to the public in 1992. During his lectures, he clearly explained the relationship between wealth and virtue. Falun Gong tells people that actions conforming to Truth-Compassion-Forbearance are always correct. Accumulating the white substance “De,” or virtue, through doing good deeds can bring people blessings, including financial good fortune. Genuine Dafa practitioners always try to follow these principles. But they have not been trampled on in the competitive business world. Many practitioners, in fact, have achieved remarkable success. Such examples are plentiful.

Being Kind to Others Results in Outstanding Job Performance

A mainland Chinese practitioner worked at a provincial foreign trade company. Compensation was directly linked to employees’ sales.

After he began to practice Falun Dafa in October 1994, this practitioner saw his health dramatically improve and the level of his xinxing increase. He stopped competing with colleagues for money or reputation. Working with others on the same project, or when others came to the territory he developed, he always helped them with all due sincerity. He shared his knowledge and experience without reservation and moved on to explore new business opportunities.

He was not like that before practicing Falun Gong. Falun Dafa practice gave him both physical and mental health, and he did not he suffer any financial losses. On the contrary, he made remarkable achievements at work. His performance surpassed his peers by a big margin, and he enjoyed a trusting, warm relationship with everyone.

In 1999, when the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) banned Falun Gong, not a single person among his superiors or peers did him any harm. Police twice searched his office, but because his colleagues protected him, they found nothing. Later his colleagues told him, “Everyone defended you. We all said that you are a good person and a model worker in our company.” Following Truth-Compassion-Forbearance in Business Mr. Lin Chung-chi owns a plastic bag company in Taiwan’s Su-ao Town.

After he began to practice Falun Dafa with his family in 1997, Mr. Lin found a new direction in life. Due to his positive influence, his parents, younger brother, two uncles, and an aunt also became practitioners. Lin Chung-chi said, “The greatest benefit from Dafa is the change in my world view. I now feel very happy and relaxed. After becoming a practitioner, I follow the principles of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance in everything I do. I do not have a strong attachment to anything. The wisdom I gained allows me to see the cause and effect in every situation. This is also a great help in my business. Now I can put down the importance of making money and focus on providing the best service to my customers. My business actually improved a lot. When I treat my competitors with compassion and help them with my best efforts, I am no longer concerned about profit. My competitors feel my heart, and they try to help me whenever they can.”

Mr. Lin continued, “One day, a competitor and I were both delivering merchandise to a customer. The competitor was not familiar with the transaction process, so I helped him with the paperwork and even helped him move his goods. Afterwards, he told me that I was different from other business owners, and he could trust me.

Nowadays, he often calls me to offer business tips, such as material pricing and sourcing information.” Good Deeds Bring Rewards; Swedish Businessman Awarded the King’s Prize On October 17, 2011, the Swedish Royal Palace Library hosted the “2011 King Carl XVI Gustaf Award” ceremony. The King awarded two prizes: “Business Pioneer Prize” and “New Business Owner Prize.” The first award, “Business Pioneer Prize,” was given to a foreign-born Swedish citizen who has achieved outstanding business success.

The Greek-born Vasilios Zoupounidis began to practice Falun Gong in 1998. In 2004, he founded the Sales Competence Company, which sells telephones. It has become a business partner for small businesses in the telecom industry and provides a contact person who helps companies utilize its resources in the best way possible. By following Truth-Compassion-Forbearance in his business dealings and daily life, Vasilios achieved great success. He attributes his fortune to Falun Gong, because “good begets good.” In the press interview following the award ceremony, Vasilios said,

“I’m happy to receive this award from His Majesty. Here in Sweden, I, who practice Falun Gong, receive an award from the king for being a successful entrepreneur, and I am extolled as a role model. At the same time, many good people who practice Falun Gong in China are being slandered and persecuted. The lies behind the CCP’s propaganda are clear for all to see.” In modern economic theories, how to deal with people in business is an important topic. Working together is an act of compassion; true competitiveness is a manifestation of self-improvement. But this competitiveness is totally different from the fighting that takes place among animals.

Business competition allows people to maximize their strengths and best utilize limited resources. It is not a dog-eat-dog world where some survive and others die. Everyone should survive, and everyone should have a better life. Competition gives people a way to allocate work and cooperate. Business competition is not just about making money. It is more about winning over people’s hearts.

Japan: Clarifying the Truth about Falun Gong at the Hiroshima Memorial (Photos)

(Minghui.org) On August 6 2012, memorial activities were held in Peace Park to mark the 67th anniversary of the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima. Representatives from 71 countries and the European Union attended the event. Because of the earthquake and nuclear radiation leakage which took place last year, the painful memory of the nuclear explosion 67 years ago connected history to the present. The day turned out to be a time and place for people to pray for peace. Days before the event, people from other cities and foreign countries began to arrive in Hiroshima. During those days, local Falun Dafa practitioners also launched a series of activities to clarify the truth about Falun Gong and expose the 13-year-long persecution in China.

At night, people read the display boards about Falun Gong and the persecution in China.
During the days' activities, many passersby saw the word “Falun Dafa” on practitioners' T-shirts and said, “Hi, Falun Gong. Please give me a flier.” Many of them continued to encourage the practitioners. Even though the temperature was high, many people talked to the practitioners for a long time, asking questions such as why Falun Gong is being persecuted and why practitioners are so persistent with their belief in the face of such brutal persecution.

On the night of August 6th, the practitioners held a candlelight vigil to commemorate the 3582 practitioners who are known to have died in the persecution. The banners read “The World Needs Truthfulness Compassion Forbearance” and “Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong”. The candles formed three letters “SOS”. The solemn event exposed what is happening in China and called for justice and conscience. A lot of people walked by, while many watched from the side and took photos and videos.

Many young people read the display boards too, as their parents actively explained the truth to them. One child about 3 years old asked his mother what it is about. The mother said, “They are good people, the bad guys beat them like this. Look, they are in pain.” Another parent talked to his children, “They are the same people as those doing exercises in the park. This is to ask us for help”
In the past, usually the people would leave after 9 p.m., but this time was different, as a lot of people were still lingering around after 10 p.m., and many came to view the truth-clarification display boards.

Peoples' Hearts Radically Changing in China

(Minghui.org) “Wherever an abuse of human rights occurs, it should draw the attention of everyone everywhere. I hope you will remind the whole world today at your gathering in front of the Congress that people who follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance should be respected rather than persecuted… I will use my thumbprint to support Falun Gong and urge colleagues to support them, and will urge the White House and the president, urging they support you as well.” (From a speech given by U. S. Congressman Sam Farr to Falun Gong practitioners from around the world at the “Disintegrate CCP, Stop Persecuting Falun Gong” rally in front of Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, on July 12, 2012).
加州联邦众议员山姆•法尔(Sam
U. S. Congressman Sam Farr, CA, said that the U.S. Capitol is a symbol of freedom to many countries around the world, and “The principles of Falun Gong—Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance—these are the principles that are enduring cornerstones of a democratic society.”
Five members of congress and more than ten representatives from non-governmental-organizations attended the rally. More than 20 Senators and State Representatives either sent letters or representatives to support the rally. Together with Falun Gong practitioners, they condemned the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for the 13 years of persecution, especially the savage practice of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. They called for an immediate end to the persecution of Falun Gong.

Thirteen years ago, on July 20, 1999, the CCP led by Jiang Zemin launched the persecution of hundreds of millions of Falun Gong practitioners who practice Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Overseas practitioners have continually resisted this persecution by means of peaceful protests ever since. These practitioners, in more than 100 countries, are supported by compassionate people everywhere. The CCP is approaching its end as Chinese people are awakening after learning the truth about the persecution and discerning the difference between righteousness and evil.
Imprisonment, torture, brainwashing, the injection of harmful drugs, organ harvesting from the living, and slaughter—these can destroy people physically and mentally, but they can never change peoples' beliefs or hearts.

300 Signatures: A Symbol of Public Opposition to the Persecution

U.S. Congressman Farr mentioned adding his thumbprint to support Falun Gong. This idea came from the story about people in China supporting a local Falun Gong practitioner: “FDIC: 300 Villagers Sign Petition Calling for Release of Falun Gong Practitioner” published on the Minghui website.

According to the reports, on the morning of February 25, 2012, police officers ransacked the home of Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Xiaodong in Zhouguantun Village, Botou City, Hebei Province, and arrested him. His elderly parent and young child were left on their own. The 300 households in the village were very angry about this and signed a petition demanding Mr. Wang's release. The village chief even stamped the petition with the official village seal. On May 10, the petition with 300 signatures was taken to the Political Bureau and circulated as internal information, causing serious concern within the bureau.

Later, civilians from different parts of China followed suit and started signing petitions to support Falun Gong practitioners. Several hundred civilians had a confrontation with police officers for nearly two hours on the morning of June 9, 2012, in the Wenxin Garden community in the Kaiping District, Tangshan, Hebei Province, according to Minghui. The civilians stood in a row, forming a human wall, to prevent the police from arresting their hero, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Zhen. Over 70 people signed a petition right there to vouch for Mr. Li Zhen's character.
In another report, 15,000 fellow villagers signed a petition letter to support Ms. Qin Rongqian of Yichun, Heilongjiang. Ms. Qin and her entire family practice Falun Gong. Ms. Qin's father, Mr. Qin Yueming, died from abuse while he was in Jiamusi Prison. Ms. Qin's mother and younger sister were sent to a forced labor camp. These 15,000 fellow villagers were angry and indignant over the tragedy of the Qin family, so they created and signed a petition.

In October of last year, villagers from the Chaoyang District, Liaoning Province, signed a petition demanding the release of their fellow villager Mr. Zhang Guoxiang. They wanted the police to release Mr. Zhang and return the 6,000 yuan that was confiscated.
Last year, 2,300 villagers from Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhao Xiangyang's hometown of Changli County, Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province, signed a petition demanding Mr. Zhou's release. After Mr. Zhou's wife, Ms. Li Shanshan, was arrested, 500 villagers signed a petition, hoping to rescue her.

One Thousand Calls for Justice

Overseas practitioners have been collecting signatures and using other ways to support the persecuted practitioners in China since the persecution began. For example, in Canada, as of May 2011, there were about 500,000 Canadian signatures on a petition asking the government to urge the CCP to stop the persecution of Falun Gong. Prior to the CCP top leaders' visit to Canada in 2005, Falun Gong practitioners submitted nearly 150,000 signed petition letters to the Canadian Prime Minister. Before the 2006 election, the Canadian press reported that, based on the letters the Prime Minster's office received, the Falun Gong issue was one of the top three issues that Canadians were most concerned about.

The Minghui website reported that on the afternoon of July 15, 2012, in order to rescue the illegally detained Taiwan Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhong Dingbang in China, practitioners in Taiwan set up table at Chiayi Train Station to collect signatures calling for the Chinese Communist regime to release Mr. Zhong immediately. Within six hours, more than 1,000 people had signed the petition and a yellow ribbon. The yellow ribbon was later hung in front of the Taiwanese Presidential Palace to urge the Taiwanese government to rescue Mr. Zhong. Many Taiwanese elected officials are already stepping forward and leaving their “fingerprints,” calling for the rescue of Mr. Zhong. They have condemned the Chinese Communist regime's illegal arrest and asked for the general public's great concern over this incident. They strongly urged the Taiwanese government to actively rescue Mr. Zhong and protect the personal safety of Taiwanese when they travel to China.

History Is Changing in Front of Our Eyes: 120 Million People Have Quit the CCP

Along with resistance to the persecution on the part of the general public, there is another wave that signals how peoples' minds have changed. Since the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party was published in 2004, there has been a widespread trend to quit the CCP in China and abroad. More than 120 million members of the CCP and its affiliates (which are for children and teens) have quit and and are no longer members of the Party or its affiliates.

At the DC rally on July 12, Ms. Suzanne Scholte, chairperson of the Defense Forum Foundation, said that she was touched by practitioners' calm and steady resistance in the face of the brutal persecution. The courage and bravery of Falun Gong practitioners has inspired more than a hundred million Chinese people.

In recent months, there has been much turmoil within the Chinese Communist Party. The downfall of Bo Xilai and Chen Guangcheng's fleeing to the United States Embassy triggered a series of events and drew the attention of the international community. Many Chinese people wanted to hear the truth—they sensed the great changes in history happening right before their eyes. Even more people are quitting the Communist Party and its affiliates, the Youth League and the Young Pioneers groups.
By July 19, 2012, 120,310,091 people had announced their resignations from the CCP via the Epoch Times website. They come from all walks of life in China. Yet there are still many people anxiously looking for ways to announce their resignations from the CCP. They hope to make the right decision for themselves during this crucial turning point in history.

In seven years Ms. Zhu, an 80-year-old former CCP member and a Melbourne, Australia, resident, has already persuaded more than 20,000 Chinese people to withdraw from the CCP. She wants Chinese people to renounce the CCP and regain their spiritual freedom. The awakened people are witnessing this historical turning point. They are also seeing the power of truth.

According to the Minghui website, volunteers at the “Quitting the CCP Service Center” at tourist attractions in Europe and Taiwan, within an hour or two often help several dozen tourists from China quit the CCP and its organizations. Many of those tourist groups are organized by CCP officials, who also withdraw. These tourists particularly hope to get factual information on the latest developments in China. The CCP will soon collapse. People are recognizing this fact.
Falun Gong practitioners are gaining glory during difficult times. And during these difficult times, they let more and more Chinese people see hope and a bright future.

More and More Chinese Communist Party at European Tourist Sites

(Minghui.org) At this writing, the number of Chinese people who have quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations has reached more than 120 million. This summer, visitors from China have been very eager to quit the CCP at Quitting the CCP Service Centers set up at European tourist sites. Hearing people express strong dissatisfaction with the communist regime is now very common among visitors to the sites. Some people start to curse the regime as soon as they open their mouths. Many Chinese tourists have told volunteers at the Service Centers, "Now in China, it is fashionable to criticize the communist party, and everybody criticises it. Even its members are cursing it." Some Chinese tourists shout, "Down with the communist party!" as soon as they see the Quitting the CCP information desk after getting off their tour buses. Some tourists even shout, "Falun Dafa is good!"  More young people have renounced the CCP and its affiliated organizations. If one person in a group of young people says that he wants to quit the CCP, the rest of them will follow. Among them, young people who were born in the 1990’s are particularly courageous in renouncing the CCP. Many have reported that they are completely disillusioned with the CCP after reading about the corruption of CCP officials on the Internet.  The volunteers at the Quitting the CCP Service Centers have found that Chinese tourists who read the facts on the Internet using software to break through the CCP's Internet censorship choose to quit the CCP almost by 100%. Often, while volunteers are talking to others about the facts, these people help, interjecting additional information that they have learned on the Internet. These visitors not only quit the CCP themselves but also persuade other members in their tour groups to quit.  A group of young overseas students urge a Youth League secretary to quit the party While passing by the Quitting the CCP Service desk, a girl from a group of young Chinese students asked, "Hey, are you helping people to quit the communist party?" The volunteer answered, "Yes, are you ready to quit?" The girl only smiled without answering. The volunteer asked them, "Since you live overseas, have you heard of the movement of quitting the CCP and its affiliated organizations? There have been more than 100 million Chinese people who have quit the communist party and its affiliated organizations. Do you know why?" The students all looked at the volunteer, waiting for the answer. The volunteer explained, “If Chinese people quit the party and its affiliated organizations, the oaths they made when they were admitted to the party will be removed, and their lives will be safe. Regardless of what happens in the future, I would like for you to avoid catastrophe and be safe.” Upon hearing this, the students repeatedly said, “Thank you.” The volunteer continued, “It’s not enough when you just say ‘Thank you;” you haven’t quit the party yet. Quitting will keep you safe. Are any of you party members?” Someone answered, “None of us is a party member. The top ranking one among us is the one who is a secretary.” Pointing at a bookish young man, they told the volunteer, “He is a Communist Youth League secretary.” The volunteer asked that young man, “Are you going to be a Party member?” He answered, “I don’t want to join the Party!” Half-jokingly, the volunteer continued, “It is not that simple that you can be a Youth League secretary. You are a prospective party member and their successor.” Hearing this, he answered, “I have no choice but to agree to be a secretary. I was not willing to be a secretary.” The young people around him testified, “What he said is true. Originally, he was not willing to be secretary, but it was forced on him.” The volunteer asked, “Forced to be a secretary?” He answered, “Yes, nobody’s willing to be it. I couldn’t avoid it!” The volunteer told him, “If you declare that you quit the party, everything will be completely solved.” One of the youths said, “Ah, this is a good idea.” The Youth League secretary smiled and said he felt that this was indeed a good idea. He declared his withdrawal from the CCP’s affiliated organizations. Then, the group of young people left the volunteer, joyfully waving and bowing.  A retired official from Chongqing: Don't we in Chongqing have the right to know this? A retired cadre from Chongqing did not deny that he had been a director-general in the Chinese Communist Party. When speaking of the recent Wang Lijun and Bo Xilai scandal, he said that he'd had a good impression of Bo Xilai and did not feel that such a “talent” should be taken down. The volunteer said, “Wen Jiabao, the Prime Minister said that Bo Xilai had launched a campaign of ‘singing red songs and attacking the underworld.' What he was doing in Chongqing aimed at bringing back the Cultural Revolution. As a person who has experienced it, like you, I don’t think that you will forget your suffering in the Cultural Revolution.” The man nodded in agreement. The volunteer continued talking about Bo Xilai’s "achievement" during his five-year tenure in Chongqing. “The Chongqing GDP growth figures reported were above the national average. When Bo stepped down, the Central Government sent people to make an investigation and found out that the total debt of the Chongqing government was 500 billion yuan, five times higher than Chongqing’s annual revenue. Chongqing’s annual revenue is only 100 billion yuan, which is just enough to barely cover the administrative expenses. Through Chen Yuan, a CCP 'princeling,' Bo borrowed large amounts of money from banks to engage in investment and construction. That is how he inflated the GDP figures. What Bo embarked on was face-saving projects and to fish for his own capital achievements.” Upon hearing this, the official was greatly surprised. The volunteer continued, “Some people praise Bo for 'improving the public security in Chongqing.' Petty thieves may have inadvertently gone, but Bo Xilai instructed people from the Public Security Bureau to steal, grab and slaughter; this was unprecedented. In the name of 'attacking the underworld,' to extort money, Bo Xilai and Wang Lijun specifically robbed private enterprises – totalling billions in assets. Entrepreneurs became very poor and their families were disintegrated after being attacked by Bo. Hundreds of such unjust cases occurred. People say that the communist party is even darker than the underworld.” As he listened, the official was making clicks of surprise. “For all these years, Bo Xilai and his wife plundered wealth; six billion U.S. dollars have been transferred overseas. Could this corrupt person do something good for the Chinese people?” The Chongqing official answered, “I have never heard of what you have told me just now, I really did not know this."  The volunteer said, “As a cadre at your level, you are ignorant of what has been happening around you. From this, we can see how closely the communist regime blocks information. In fact, that Bo Xilai has been demoted is not primarily because of his corruption – the Communist Party rules the country by relying on corruption and all civil and military officials are corrupt. Wang Lijun disclosed that Bo Xilai and Zhou Yongkang had been planning a coup to replace Xi Jinping. This could not be tolerated by the high-level officials of the communist party. That is why Bo Xilai was removed from his post.”  After listening attentively, the veteran cadre said, “I admit that the communist party has lied, but I never guessed the extent of their lies. The truth about Wang and Bo incidents has been spread all over the world, but people in Chongqing are still kept in the dark.” The former official sighed, "What a pity! Don't we Chongqing people have the right to know this?” The volunteer suggested that he read the book Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, which he'd been given; then he would understand everything. When asked whether they wanted to quit the party, the official and his wife nodded in agreement and announced their resignation immediately.

Community Responds to Thirteen Year Persecution of Falun Gong (Images)

(Minghui.org) As the persecution of Falun Gong in China reached its thirteen-year mark in 2012, the international community issued another wave of calls for an end to the persecution. State and city governments in the U.S., Italy and Czech passed several resolutions condemning the persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

The Municipal Council of Livingston, New Jersey, passed a resolution on July 2, 2012, condemning the “harsh brutal and repressive practice of the Chinese Government against Falun Gong followers” and urging the “federal government do everything in its power to help stop the atrocities in China.”

The Provincial Council of Florence, Italy, unanimously passed a resolution on June 27, 2012, calling for the Chinese Communist Party to stop persecuting Falun Gong On May 23, 2012, the Czech Senate Committee on Education, Science, Culture, Human Rights, and Petitions discussed a proposal on ending the persecution of Falun Gong in China. The members present reached a unanimous agreement to call for a stop to the persecution, and passed a resolution. The resolution demanded that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) lift the ban on Falun Gong, dissolve the 610 Office, stop the persecution of Falun Gong, and release the detained practitioners and prisoners of conscience. According to the resolution's fifth point, the government and the President of the Czech Republic would be urged to hold talks with the CCP on the issue of ending the persecution of Falun Gong.

Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Jaromír Jermář read the resolution at the meeting. In the past thirteen years, the international community, including governments in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia and Taiwan, have passed dozens of resolutions calling for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong.  On July 24, 2002 the U.S. Congress unanimously passed Resolution 188, urging the Chinese government to stop persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. The 108th House of Representatives unanimously passed House Concurrent Resolution 304 on Oct. 4, 2004, condemning the Chinese government's oppression of Falun Gong in both the United States and China. The House passed Resolution 605 on March 16, 2010. The resolution called for an immediate end to the regime's campaign to persecute, intimidate, imprison, and torture Falun Gong practitioners, and to release all imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners.  On July 29, 2009, the City Council of Chicago, the third largest city in the United States, passed a resolution, which stated: "the United States should condemn the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong, and make all efforts to end immediately the persecution of Falun Gong in China." "It is also our responsibility as human beings to raise awareness necessary to stop horrific crimes against our fellow human beings no matter what the cost." The San Francisco City Council passed a resolution to condemn the persecution in January, 2006.  On October 24, 2002, the Canadian Parliament also passed a resolution supporting Falun Gong. On  September 7, 2006, the European Parliament unanimously passed a resolution for a report of EU-China relations, calling on the Chinese regime to release Falun Gong practitioners. The resolution stated that the European Parliament “strongly condemns the detention and torture of Falun Gong practitioners in prisons, re-education through labor camps, psychiatric hospitals and legal education schools; is concerned about reports that organs of detained Falun Gong practitioners have been removed and sold to hospitals; urges the Chinese Government to end the detention and torture of Falun Gong practitioners and to release them immediately.” On June 24, 2008, the Australian Senate passed Resolution No. 127, urging the Chinese Communist regime to stop the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. The resolution was adopted unanimously by all parties.  Upon launching the persecution, the former head of the CCP, Jiang Zemin, vainly attempted to eliminate Falun Gong within three months. Thirteen years have now passed, and Falun Gong is still standing fast but the persecution has been exposed. Countless people have been touched by Falun Gong's compassion and steadfastness. The above-mentioned support from the international community expresses the world's desire to end this shameful page of Chinese history.
